Prime Video released the new Blade Runner 2099 trailer at New York Comic Con on October 10. The limited series premieres on November 25, 2026, with all eight episodes arriving together. The official NYCC trailer is available on Prime Video’s YouTube channel.

The release date had already been announced at San Diego Comic-Con in July. This update brings a longer preview of the series rather than a change to the release plan, as Amazon’s updated series guide confirms.

Blade Runner’s next future belongs to Cora and Olwen.

Where 2099 fits in the story

Set fifty years after Blade Runner 2049, the series follows Cora, a fugitive posing as a Blade Runner, and Olwen, a dying Replicant. Their investigation could expose a secret that threatens Los Angeles, according to the official synopsis.

Michelle Yeoh plays Olwen; Hunter Schafer plays Cora. There is a promising tension in that pairing: one woman has to keep her assumed identity intact, while the other is running out of time. The mystery gives both characters something immediate to lose.

The creative team and release plan

Silka Luisa is the showrunner. Ridley Scott executive produces, and Jonathan van Tulleken directs the first two episodes, Amazon says.

All eight episodes land on Prime Video on November 25. For viewers who prefer to follow an investigation from beginning to end over a weekend, the full-season release makes that possible from day one.
