The step above Ultra
In Gears E-Day, even Ultra has a setting above it: Ludicrous, the game’s most demanding option. That is worth knowing if you tend to max everything out and check performance afterward.
In TechSpot’s native 1440p test, switching from Ludicrous to Ultra took the Radeon RX 9070 XT from 35 to 69 fps, almost double. With the same change, the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti went from 39 to 68 fps.
Those are averages from the test scenario, with no guarantee of the same gain on another PC or throughout the campaign. Even so, the gap gives a useful sense of how demanding that menu choice is.

Trying the setting in play
E-Day arrived on October 6 and is included in PC Game Pass, according to Xbox.
If hitches persist, investigate what is holding the computer back before deciding which part to replace.
If you already have access, the built-in performance test lets you compare settings before returning to the game to decide whether the improvement is worth the difference in image quality.
